With strange found objects and fantastical colours, magical photo–artist Stephen Albair takes us down the rabbit hole into his haunted wonderland of playful but deeply unsettling images; the secret garden at childhood’s end, whose exit door leads us into yet more mysterious realms. Through them, we awaken from dreams only to find ourselves still dreaming.

 

Albair lives and works in the US where he has exhibited both nationally and internationally for the past 35years. He has produced solo exhibitions in both San Francisco and Bangkok.

สวนเร้นลับ – ทิวทัศน์ส่วนตน [Hidden Gardens – Private Views] : ด้วยสิ่งของที่เขาค้นพบสะสมไว้และสีสดลึก ศิลปินภาพถ่าย สตีเฟน อัลแบร์ พาเราลงรูกระต่ายขาวของอลิศ สู่แดนมหัศจรรย์จิตหลอนส่วนตน สิงสู่ด้วยภาพที่ดูน่ารักเหมือนการละเล่นของเด็ก แต่ทรงพลังชวนให้หวาดหวั่น เพราะมันคือ สวนเร้นลับที่เล่าถึงการจบสิ้นของวัยไร้เดียงสา และดินแดนที่ลึกลับกว่าที่รอคอยอยู่เบื้องหน้า  ราวกับว่าเราฟื้นขึ้นจากฝัน  เพียงเพื่อจะพบว่าเรายังคงติดอยู่ในฝันเช่นเดิม

 

สตีเฟน อัลแบร์ ทำงานภาพถ่ายและสอนศิลปะอยู่ในซานฟรานซิสโก อเมริกา มานานกว่า 35 ปี การแสดงเดี่ยวครั้งนี้นับเป็นครั้งที่สอง ซึ่งหากจากครั้งแรกที่ประสบความสำเร็จ 3 ปีเต็ม
